The ADMS office was broken into on February.  The thieves stole our main office computers, two printers, and our wireless router.  The jimmied a solid door, then kicked it in, breaking the door, lock and deadbolt.

THEY DID NOT touch your registrations.  Those are fine.

THEY DID NOT touch any credit card reciepts or info.

Our credit card service is ONLINE not machine based, so that info is fine.

A police report has been filed, and they will be looking for our computers through outlets such as pawn shops. Our insurance company has been notified and is working with us as well.

Unfortunately, the thieves also took our small fire safe that contained backups.  We are having to rebuild some data from older backups and hard copy.  We WILL get it done, but it's going to take some time.

As soon as we have the new computers here, we will continue just where we left off with your registrations.  We will continue mailing out completed item this week.  We will continue processing items that have come in.  We will be working off the data and information we have to keep things running as efficiently as we can.

We would appreciate it if you can hold off calling about registrations.  Our turnaround time is 10 weeks.  Instead of the expected 400 registrations in December, we got nearly 650.

The magazine is going to be a bit delayed - it was being readied to go to the printer... but it was on one of the computers.  We have the majority of info to rebuild it.  IF you sent an ad or article to us via the JUNO email account, please email us again at lovelongears@hotmail.com.  We have everything that was emailed to the lovelongears account, but lost info on the other account (downloaded to hard drive).  IF WE MISS your ad, we apologize in advance.  We will be trying to call everyone if we cannot find copy for their ad.

We have plenty to do to keep things rolling and keep the delay as short as possible.  Your help is greatly appreciated - we're still here, we're still running, and we'll get through this!

Thank you!

The ADMS Staff.
UPDATE:  3-23-09 We have the new computers up and running.  The registry database is restored (luckily we had the last backup from that, but it took several re-writes of the program to make it work on the new system).

The Membership database is mostly restored, we have found the information for all but two memberships.  If you have PAID for a membership before March 1st but have not gotten a Brayer, please email us (preferable to calling).  We may have missed you in the restoration.

PLEASE do not call the office asking about registrations.  We are all working overtime, even to the point of taking stuff home, to get everything mailed out.  Each time we must stop and search for something slows us down that much further.

Everything from December is in final stages, some of the January is finished and headed for mailout.  There are still over 1000 registrations that have come in just in Jan/February March.  In December we got more than 650 NEW registrations (in additions to transfers, updates, etc).

We have five people working right now, which is as many as we can support on payroll and office space.  Your patience  is greatly appreciated.  We know it's taking us time, but the volume of work to be done as well as the recovery effort is enormous.

Thank you,

Leah Patton, Office manager, ADMS

Aside from trying to rebuild all of the lost documents, catalogs, forms, letters, things we use weekly but not-daily, we are fairly well caught up and back to normal.  We are still rebuilding the Breeder's List, but hope to be able to offer that service soon.  The registration time is catching up (back to 8-10 weeks, and trying to close that gap, but show/sale/race season always clogs the way).

We've reset and rescanned some of the common documents and are plowing our way through others.  PLEASE, if you think you should have gotten a registration, have the animal's full name, the date and amount of your check, and if/when it cleared the bank in front of you when you contact us.  All of these are vital to save time for us in cross-referencing an item.  MANY of these are in the hold file, so if you get a hold file letter in your mail, please respond to to it asap.   Thanks!
