DON'T FORGET TO SEND THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES BACK TO ADMS IF YOU ARE TRANSFERRING AN ANIMAL THAT IS REGISTERED IN MDR, ADR OR AMR!
Transfers CANNOT be done online. The return of the original to the office is required.
BUYER - Did you get an appication that has no rules printed on the back? PLEASE READ HERE first before sending in your paperwork to make sure you hae the correct items and fees. SELLERS - please copy both sides of an application before giving them to new buyers.

1. Original Registration Certificate. (Do not send a photocopy. You may keep a photocopy for yourself in case things get lost, but we MUST have the original certificate to complete the transfer.)

3. Transfer Fee -IMMATURE - the fee is $5.00. The certificate will be marked with an association transfer label in the transfer field. No new certificate will be issued.
4. Include any additional information such as brand, microchip.
5. New photos if the animal is being updated and/or appears significantly different (or if old photos are difficult to see animal in).

(Name changed may be performed on IMMATURE animals under the age of 2 ONLY. Animals over the age of 2 may not have their names changed. If you are applying for a name change at the same time as an immature transfer, the fee is $10 for name change +$5 for transfer.

4. Include any additional information such as brand, microchip,Verify or include Height if over 3 (minis) or 5 (larger stock) years old. If you are UPDATING and TRANSFERRING at the same time, the fee is just $7.00 (No extra fees involved) .
5. New photos if the animal is being updated and/or appears significantly different (or if old photos are difficult to see animal in). We will return any photos we do not use, including baby photos from certificates being updated.

(Mature updates should be done after the third BIRTHDAY (actual date, not Jan 1) if the animal is a MINIATURE, after age 4 o5 if Mammoth or a mule. Height may always be updated again if the animal continues to grow after this birthdate.

2. Mature height (taken at the withers, with animal on a level surface. Measure three (3) times for an average. Do not use increments of less than 1/8th of an inch. Mules may be sent in Hands or Inches.

1. Photocopy of "other Registry" Certificate (we prefer for you to keep the original and just send us a clear photocopy of both sides)

(Please do not send only a transfer report from the other registry - we need to show their registration information on file. The copy will be kept on file with the ADMS application.)

5. FEES - $8.00 fee for donkey jack or jennet, $3.00 for a donkey gelding, $5.00 for any mule.
EXCEPTIONS to this notice - If we have contacted you about a missing check, a shortage of money, or a rush fee, we will accept online payment as we have made the request at that point.
Our turnaround time is usually 8-9 weeks from the time your paperwork arrives at our office. Please remember that when we must search through the in-process work to find your paperwork and where it is in line, this slows us down by as much as an hour - and registrations average over 45 minutes each to process from start to finish. Please help us by being patient as we process your papers, and by registering/transfering animals as soon as they are born or purchased. INCOMPLETE paperwork may be placed in the hold file pending additional information. Missing DOB, Owner or breeder info, incorrect numbers, all of tese may hold up your papers. Missing Perm ID on a Miniature Mediterranean may cause the animal to be registered as an American Miniature Donkey in the ADR book. The grace period is long past, and we will not hold animals to wait for ID info.
ANIMALS WITH UNTRACED PARENTS, UNKNOWN PEDIGREE may still be registered with ADMS in our American Donkey and Jackstock (ADR) book. Donkey jacks and jennets that meet the basic conformation requirements are accepted after being inspected and filling out - as completely as possible - a registration application. Please send in BOTH the registration application and an inspection form (along with fees and photos). Donkey geldings and mules do not have to be inspected. Please fill out a registration application as completely as possible and send in (along with fees and photos). If any parent info is known at all, please include on registration application. If you know that the sire is Bubba, brown mini and the dam is Grannie, 34" gray-dun, list it in the proper area of the application.
*** If an exact birthdate is given, information about the DAM (mother) MUST be provided as well. We are unable to accept exact dates of birth if no info is provided on the dam.
**** If one or both parents (horse or donkey) are not registered with ADMS, please provide a photocopy of their papers/pedigree. Please do not assume we can trace a pedigree from any other breed registry. Some can be traced with fees - which we have to pay as would anyone else. If you do not provide copies of outside registrations, pedigree will not appear on the papers.
**** We do NOT need copies of ADMS registry papers for the parents of your animal sent to us - this is a waste of your postage. We have the records from all of our own registry in-house (MDR, ADR/ADJR, AMR). Assuring that the parent name, breed, color, height and registration number are correctly listed on the application is all we need. IF for some reason we need a copy of parent papers, we will contact you.
